Dragon’s Kiss
Dragon’s Kiss by Ally Blue is the first in her new Mother Earth series.
In the post-Change world the rules are simple. You protect each other and your Tribe; you seek love and companionship only within your tribe, you do not question the rules, and you don’t wonder about the vanished past. You are to accept the knowledge given to you by the pack and that is all you need to know. To disobey will bring harsh punishment and in some cases death. Bear and his Brother Lynx are shocked to discover a Brother from a distant pack on their lands, an act that could mean his death, especially when they find that he has been banished from his Tribe for questioning the elders of the Tribe.
But Bear finds himself drawn to Dragon and even though it is forbidden he can not control the attraction he feels for the fallen Brother. Bear finds himself questioning everything he has always believed and finds that he has some major decisions to make. Decisions that may end in his death, is Dragon’s kiss worth it?
Set in a post apocalyptic earth where men are now grouped into Packs when they show “pack” characteristics. I’m not sure exactly how this is determined as it’s not discussed in the story; the only thing mentioned is that Bear lived with his mother until he was determined to have these characteristics. This is an aspect of the story that I would love to have a more in depth explanation of in the future stories.
Bear is in a close knit tribe and is relatively happy there. But he is very interested in knowledge of the forbidden past, a secret he guards closely, even from his beloved pack-brothers. Dragon is the first one to ever share that desire with him and Bear is attracted to him for both his body and his mind. The forbidden aspect of their attraction reminded me of Romeo and Juliet and I could see how this could play out for the doomed lovers. There are so many ways that this story could go from here, I can’t wait to see where Ms. Blue takes our heroes next.
