Slippery When Wet
Devon Markum is struggling to move on with his life after his seven year relationship has come to an end. He surprises himself by being attracted to the studly young pool boy that he’s hired. Marty Phillips is a student who lives in the moment, carefree and free in his loving. He finds Devon attractive and sees no reason why they shouldn’t take advantage of their mutual attraction. Can Marty convince Devon that it’s okay to let go and have a good time, or will Devon show Marty what it means to truly love someone?

I really hate to give this book 3 Angels but I have to. This is the first story that I have read by Stone Richards that I didn’t like. The story stumbled along for me until it came to an uninspired ending. Devon and Marty just didn’t do it for me. I couldn’t grasp the attraction on any level other than physical and I have to have the aspect for the story to really maintain my interest. I’m unsure as to exactly what was off in this offering for me; in the end I will just chalk it up to being not my cup of tea for some nebulous reason. I will read Stone Richards again because I have enjoyed his work in the past.
