GayLife.com
Brian Cohen has no career and no love prospects, but he has a best friend who supports him and looks out for his best interest. A possible job leads him to the office of Nick Petrangelis, the owner and founder of GayLife.com. The fact that Nick has a boyfriend deters Brian from trying for more, but with Nick’s killer body, it’s hard to not keep the fantasies sizzling and the flames flickering.
Brian gains valuable lessons over the course of his new job, some in friendship, a few about relationships, important realizations about his skills, and most importantly a lesson in love.
Neil Plakcy’s GayLife.com takes us to South Beach, Florida, where we meet Brian, a man who has never taken his life seriously enough to attempt to have a lasting career or relationship. Working for GayLife.com pushes Brian and makes him take a hard look at his life, his abilities, and the image he projects. I could see him grow as a person, each new task forcing him to find new innovative ways to keep the company afloat and moving forward. I love the fact that his friends didn’t coddle him, but delivered hard truths to him that made him take a harder look at himself. The story mixes in humor at the right moments that keep the story from becoming melancholy. I’ll admit I couldn’t wait to read the next slogan that Brian would pass on the streets of SB. GayLife.com is a well-delivered tale about new beginnings, second chances at love, and learning the true strength of one’s character. This was my first opportunity to read one of Neil Plakcy’s books, but it definitely won’t be the last book I’ll read by this talented author.
