Night’s Cold Kiss
At the tender age of six, Antoinette Petrescu watched as her mother was brutally murdered by Dante, a blood thirsty dreniacs. She grew up hating the vampire race. Now as one of the best Venators the country has, she hunts and destroys those elements of the parahuman world that don’t obey the CHaPR rules. When her brother Nici decides to take another position and in effect breaking up their partnership, her Uncle Sergei believes it best that she accompany him to the annual CHaPR conference.

Years earlier Christian Laraque delivered the young Antoinette and Nici Petrescu to their Uncle when their mother was murdered and their father died in a car accident. It is his job to find who is killing humans in much the same way as Antoinette’s mother, and the beautiful young Venator is the bait. The chemistry between them is electrifying, even as they both try to fight it.

Night’s Cold Kiss is the debut novel of Dark Urban Fantasy author Tracey O’Hara. This is a story full of heightened emotion and passion, and one that is hard to put down once you start reading. The main characters are well developed, each with underlying conflict that draws you into the story. From the sword wielding, kick butt heroine to a hero you’d be more than happy to let feast on your neck. The secondary characters all play important roles within the story, and it is a credit to Ms. O’Hara that she has been able to find the right balance. The plot and subplots are well thought out and build at the right pace to a climatic end. Tracey O’Hara is one Urban Fantasy author to watch. If you are looking for a novel that has you turning each page with anticipation, Night’s Cold Kiss is a must read.
