Cass Palmer has had some trouble in his past, but that's exactly what it is - his past. Now he is a gardener at a magical museum and is able to truly be himself. He lavishes his attention on the plants and trees and has made a good life for his mother and sister and himself. When a Transcendent Sprite, one that wears the form of an apple tree that Cass has been tending, decides to show his appreciation for all Cass' hard work Cass is very surprised. Especially since Fidel is extremely handsome and Cass finds himself attracted to the shapeshifter.

But all is not well in Cass' world. Someone is killing Transcendent sprites and Fidel and Cass must risk everything to save the other Transcendents at the museum. Can they find the killer before it's too late or will Fidel be the next victim?

Apple Crisp is just as yummy as the previous books in the Yummy Love series. This one catches us up with Cass, the young man that was the source of so many problems in the first two books. He's finally coming into his own and building a life that he can enjoy when the inevitable happens. It's not a new or inventive plot, really. Only a few elements have changed, but the writing talent of Kate Hill makes it all exciting and new. If you've enjoyed the previous installments you will certainly enjoy Apple Crisp. I can't wait to see where she takes the story next. There are so many directions that she can take it and so many great characters to explore.
