Lindsey Prince, an IR romance writer, is stunned when she opens her door one day to find a sexy, half-naked purple guy outside. He says he's her replacement Muse, Zahn, and he's come to help her with her latest book. Lindsey tells him to go away and tries to focus on her writing, but the words won't flow. Zahn pops up, offering suggestions, and slowly, Lindsey realises he really does want to help. She just has to get past the fact that he's purple.

Zahn reveals that he's purple as a punishment. He gave his last author bad advice and made her write purple prose. Until he redeems himself by helping an author write well, Zahn will remain purple. Zahn is determined to make Lindsey's book the hottest, sexiest read ever - but after he decides to 'inspire' Lindsey with some sexy moves of his own, his ex, the goddess Astis, comes to visit. She's determined to stop Lindsey from finishing her book - by whatever means necessary!

I grinned my way through Purple Prose - it truly is a laugh-a-minute read. Hilarious situations, witty dialogue, a parrot that adds his own commentary, and two very likeable lead characters make this a book to remember. I also enjoyed the humorous look into how an author works, batting ideas around, dealing with pressure, and coping with the dreaded purple prose. It's such a funny concept and Sam Cheever really manages to make it work. An enormously entertaining read, Purple Prose is sure to appeal to writers and wannabe-writers as well as to those of us who just love to read!
