The Katzman’s Mate
The Katzman’s Mate by Stormy Glenn is a homoerotic sci-fi story.
After all these years Commander Chellack has finally taken back the world was stolen from his father with the help of the federation. Thirty years ago, Vortigern Vedek came to this world for a supposedly trade exchange, until they used their superior technology to over throw the government. Now thirty years later, Chellak and his brother, Ciprian, are back to find things have changed, including the taking of slaves. Chellak has agreed to allow Vortigern and his family to leave unhindered even after finding out the terrible treatment his people endured during their reign. After walking to one of the servants/slaves, Sorina, Chellak finds out that about an item of great worth, a Bruter, owned by Vortigern and takes the prize as compensation for his father. Unknown to Chellak, the Bruter is worth a great deal and is a humanoid. Chellak finds himself an owner of the most beautiful man he has ever seen and his mate. Demyan, the Bruter, has lived with abuse at Vortigern’s son's hand, but something about Chellak draws him in spite of himself. How will Chellak find a way to get Demyan to trust him, control his instincts to take his mate and at the same time help return his world to what it once was, a prosperous and happy world?
Ms. Glenn has created an intricate and fascinating story in a futuristic world with unique and compelling characters. Demyan’s story was intriguing to watch as it unfolded. There were many people and situations that lead to his present situation with people like Sorina who risked much to insure his safety. I loved how Chellak wanted nothing but to help Demyan start to trust him and even ask Ciprian’s mate to teach him to read and write. Demyan’s ability to read and write allowed him to communicate with others. The visual descriptions of each of the characters bring them alive for the reader. Thanks go to Ms. Glenn for another incredible story.
