Hot Mail
Four years ago, Jane and Ethan use to be best friends, but when Ethan got engaged to another woman, Jane couldn't stand it. She has wanted him ever since then and now she is going to do something about it. With Valentine’s Day approaching, she decides to become his secret admirer and seduce him with erotic poetry. Then her stationery store is vandalized and Ethan comes to her rescue. As Ethan starts to realize his feelings for Jane, she has to deal with her own feelings and her jealousy over her own erotic valentine's cards.
Hot Mail by Janice Maynard was a pleasure to read. It's a sexy sweet romance about one of my favorite things, friends turned lovers. Ethan and Jane are both people who you want to root for; I enjoyed seeing them trying to figure out their happy ending. Neither of them really came out with their feelings, and it could have saved a lot of stress if they had, but it was understandable why they didn't. Jane has had feelings for Ethan for as long as she has known him, while Ethan didn't allow himself to even think of her in that way, since he knew he wasn't ready for a commitment in the past. It was great to see him realize he wanted her in his bed, and then to see him slowly realize he had real feelings for her. This story felt real, from the romance to the mystery of who wanted to ruin Jane's store. There is also a great secondary romance involving Ethan's sister, Sherry, and another policeman, Randy. I loved their scenes, and it didn't take away from Ethan and Jane at all. My emotions were involved with both couples, and it all flowed together well. I read Hot Mail in one day and it is the book to read for any fan of romance.
