When FBI Agent Joe Hawkins, AKA Hawk, takes off for Alaska to clear his name, fellow agent Sophie Branson has but one choice: to chase after him. Months ago, they spent one passionate night in each others’ arms, and since then, she hasn’t been able to forget him. So when she catches up with the man living in the wilderness, she offers him a deal— finish what he started and give her sexual bliss.

Hawk knows he has little choice but to accept the agent’s offer, and the ride to his friends’ house. But what he didn’t count on was the way this by-the-book agent makes him feel, and he certainly didn’t count on love. When fellow agents start tracking him down and friends aren’t what they seem, who does he turn to? Can he trust the woman he’s learned to lean on?

This story, in short, rocked my world. Pam Champagne has created a wonderfully compelling tale with Alaskan Heat. The sexual tension between Sophie and Hawk is off the charts. The suspense is gripping, keeping me on the edge of my seat, never knowing if who they choose to trust is worthy of such an honor. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Hawk learn to love, leaving his shell behind. I also enjoyed seeing Sophie discover her inner warrior and her seemingly effortless ability to handle the Al-Can highway.

You can’t go wrong with this story. It fully earns its highly recommended read designation. I can’t wait to read more by this obviously talented author.
