Jaylin is an openly gay eighteen year old with a secret crush on the star jock of his high school, Max Sydney. When Max lets Jaylin know that he is interested as well, the two make plans to be together. They have to keep their love a secret as Max’s father and several of their fellow students wouldn’t understand. When Max is brutally attacked and left near death, his father convinces him that the best decision is to leave Jaylin behind.

Several years later the two are reunited under less than ideal circumstances. Can Jaylin see beyond his feelings of betrayal and listen to Max and his reasons for leaving? Or will he let the past lie and continue on with his life without Max?

This is a delightful little story of love coming full circle. Jaylin is a sweet young man who knows what he wants in life. Max is a man from a home where certain things are expected and any deviation is unforgivable. The love between the two men was endearing and heartwarming with the fresh bloom of new love very present. When the two are torn apart by a tragedy, I wept tears and prayed that the story wouldn’t end there. I felt the horror of the situation and applaud Ms. Davis’ talent at making the situation realistically horrifying. It’s an event that has far reaching complications for both men, and you can’t help but feel as if you are present during the story. I was very happy with the ending and have great hopes for the couple. I am looking forward to reading more from this very talented author.
