Making Waves
Andy Smith is doing his good deed for the day, maybe even the month. He is taking his sister’s drunken fiancé home from the bar where he found him. It’s two nights before their wedding and Andy knows that his sister and Scott want to avoid the embarrassment that could occur if Scott was found in that state. Scott is a major Hollywood star and his image is everything. What Andy didn’t expect was the overwhelming attraction that he feels toward Scott or the fact that Scott appears to return it. Will Andy be able to resist his sister’s fiancé or will he succumb to his desires?

While I love Pepper Espinoza and enjoyed reading Making Waves, I felt that it was not her best work. The story wasn’t very original and honestly, that’s not a sticking point with me. As long as I connect with the characters and feel the emotions that they go through on their journey I can dismiss a staid plot line. Andy and Scott were good characters; they just weren’t fantastic or even highly charismatic. Actually, the whole sneaking around thing sort of made them a bit despicable. Really, having an affair with your sister’s groom? I don’t care about Andy’s reasoning behind doing it, or even the excuses that he offered. I didn’t feel the overwhelming passion that he felt; it just didn’t come through in the story for me. I will continue to read Pepper Espinoza and know that this was just not to my taste.
