What an odd, odd little story. A gay man wakes up one morning and finds that he is suddenly in possession of a vagina. And there begins his quest…to bag as many straight males as he can find and use his new toy. But Rick has a problem, he is a manly man and it’s going to take all the skill his drag queen friend can bring to the table to transform Rick into a convincing female, or least convincing enough to bag the bevy of men that he’s after. What Rick wasn’t expecting was to meet Erik, a naïve young man who sets his heart off pattering. This is definitely a story of love gone wrong in more ways than one. I certainly wasn’t expecting this little gem when I picked the story up. Rick Reed is mainly a horror writer so I certainly wasn’t expecting to be laughing my head off. Told with a flair for the dramatic, I couldn’t help but love Rick and feel a bit sorry for him at the same time. Man-Amorphosis comes in at almost thirty pages, but was an unexpected treasure and I look forward to more from Mr. Reed.
