Caitlyn Sullivan has brought divorce papers to her husband, police detective Sean Sullivan. Even though their marriage was full of intense passion, she needs to move on because their relationship has changed. A year ago she decided their marriage was over even though Sean won’t accept it.

Sean takes Caitlyn to a cabin in the woods where he hopes he can talk some sense into her. Because the attraction is still strong between the two, Caitlyn can’t deny Sean. They make love and talk about their problems. Things are almost back on track for them, but then they are located by the ones Sean is trying to protect Caitlyn from. Sean will put his life on the line to protect the woman he loves and hopes they can start all over again.

Sean and Caitlyn have Everything to Lose in this short yet intense romance by Katie Reus. Katie writes nice, sensual love scenes between a separated married couple who still have great love and passion for one another. The tension is thick between these two as they try to come to terms with their relationship as well as trying to stay alive from those who want to harm them.

Sean is a great protector and only cares about Caitlyn’s well being. Some readers may not be pleased how he gets Caitlyn up to his cabin, but his explanation does make sense and even Caitlyn forgives him, even though she lets him have it first. This is one woman who won’t be walked all over.

Everything to Lose is a nice romance between two people who are perfect for each other. I really enjoyed how Katie stressed the importance of communication between the two lovers. An overall enjoyable read!
