What used to be the United States is now a war-torn land. As with the first Pony Express riders of the past, the need to get information, supplies, and medicine to others is still in great demand. The future riders don’t have horses, but a great deal of horse power in the motorcycles they ride. Lachlan is one of those riders. He enjoys his job, and his instincts keep him alive. A quick stop in Washington, D.C. gives Lachlan an opportunity to witness a different type of war… a dance war. Dance wars are far less bloody, but just as competitive as the types that have destroyed life as it once was. And, with this new experience comes an intense sexual encounter that will leave Lachlan shaken and wanting more. Adair is the leader of a group of scavengers, and Pony Express Riders are usually his target choice of prey. His encounter with Lachlan makes more of an impact than he realizes, and is the beginning of something that will change their lives forever.

Dance Wars 1: Left Side of the Moon is our introduction to Adair and Lachlan. Ms. Titheniel does a wonderful job of creating characters you can’t help but enjoy. Lachlan lives on the edge and isn’t used to taking orders. Adair doesn’t want to admit just how much Lachlan touches his heart. If you take a deeper look at his actions, you know Lachlan means more to him than he admits. I do believe Adair protests too much. I loved the dance scene and the vivid portrayal of the war and the setting where it takes place. If you are looking for a shape-shifter romance outside of the normal realm, then pick up a copy of Dance Wars 1: Left Side of the Moon.
