Special Delivery
Jeff enjoys his career as a special agent for Homeland Security, since he gets to work undercover and bring criminals to justice. His newest assignment has him working as a delivery driver trying to track down a drug operation in Cameron Creek. That’s where he finds his man, literally, when he meets Monte, a sporting goods store owner. He knows not to mix business with pleasure, but something about Monte makes Jeff want to break all the rules.

Monte moved to the small town in hopes of starting a new life. With little business to keep the store afloat, he tries to keep the faith that things will get better. When he spots Jeff for the first time, Monte is ready and willing for any packages the handsome man might want to deliver, even if his past makes him a bit reluctant.

Is Monte the criminal Jeff is after, or is there someone else committing these illegal acts?

Monte’s move to the rural area hasn’t been without sacrifice, but his dream is important enough to weather the storm. Jeff loves being an agent, and while he’s drawn to Monte, he’s not willing to step over too many boundaries to have him in his bed. They both handled the situation better than I anticipated. Some moments reminded me of how it feels to fall in love, when your heart is racing and you are anticipating what will happen next. This made relating to Monte easy as pie. Deirdre O’Dare has written a great gay cotemporary novel that is sure to please those who enjoy the genre.
