Kitsune
Kitsune by Lila Dubois is an erotic paranormal story entwining modern day issues with ancient Japanese traditions. The Japanese religion believes that the Inari or Rice God, when needed, can send a Kitsune or fox spirit to help their followers choose the correct path. Long ago a Japanese prince was resisting his birth right to become emperor until a kitsune arrived to give him guidance and promised to always remain by his side. The prince prayed that his children would always remain happy, but many centuries in the future a descendent of his may be in need of some divine intervention.

Joe lives for nothing except work. He has spent many years working long hours and the only off time is spent with people at work. Joe has lost contact with everything in his past, but he doesn’t realize what he has lost. At the same time, Sakura has arrived and is excited to start her mission, she has been sent by Inari to help Joe regain the other half of himself, his Japanese world. Sakura has spent much time studying the world, but things are very confusing. Joe finds Sakura in has room without knowing who she is or where she came from. Sakura has the ability to read Joe’s mind enough to help her deal with all the situations she finds in the human world. Sakura quickly realizes that Joe has repressed all of his memories, to the point that he doesn’t even remember the Japanese language. Joe thinks Sakura may be a crazy tourist, but she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. The tension between Joe and Sakura explodes in a sexual experience beyond anything either has ever experienced. Will Sakura find a way to help Joe? How will Joe react when he finds out what and who Sakura is?

Ms. Dubois has created a unique story incorporating Japanese traditions in modern day society. It was fascinating to watch how Sakura adapted to many of the situations she found herself in by gleaming information from Joe’s mind. I loved reading the shape shifting scenes when Sakura changed between her fox and human forms. The love scenes between Sakura and Joe were visual and very erotic. I enjoyed learning about Japanese traditions and how their religious traditions have remained unchanged over the past centuries. Thanks go to Ms. Dubois for an interesting read.
