Navigator’s Log
Navigator’s Log by J. M. Snyder is a Torquere Single Shot science fiction homoerotic story.

Tylar is the navigator on a dangerous interplanetary mission to find a cure to a new virus, a virus that has killed five people and infected two-hundred others. Tylar was asked to join the five member crew by his old soldier buddy Jareth, who is the military support for the mission. Ansel is the pathologist who is wicked smart, but lacking in social skills. The captain, Paol, is known for his abilities and is very familiar with the planet they are going to, Earth. Last but not least is Rion the piolet and object of Tylar’s every desire. Their mission is to go to Earth and try and find some vegetation that could be used as a cure. You see, the virus in many ways is similar to the old Earth virus Ebola. The trip to Earth has its own excitement, but mostly Tylar spends his time eyeing Rion, trying to find a way to make his feelings known. The day the others start their search, Tylar and Rion are left on the bridge alone when they slowly, over many days, realize that their feelings are mutual. Time is still running out to find something. All they find is plant life and this green scum that is pervasive in all the areas they search. Will Tylar and Rion find time to explore their growing feelings or will the virus find another victim, thus endangering all of their lives?

Ms. Snyder has created a unique story in the science fiction/ homoerotic genre. The plot line, in log form, is well written and concise in its format. The characters come to life as they deal with life and death situations. The growing love between Tylar and Rion is beautiful to watch as it grows. The only thing I wish is that the story continued. The story ended with a major cliffhanger and several plot arcs were left open. I, for one, hope that there will be a sequel to this gripping story.
