Pandora Project: Runaway Star
Life for the people of Earth has not been easy, but finally there is no hunger. Earth is regaining it’s beauty and then the unexpected happens. A noise came from outer space infrequently, but as time passed the message occurred more until the governments put together a team in secret to un-code the message. They were able to figure out that something dangerous was coming, and when they realized that the message was coming from a ship named Pandora, Earth began to prepare for the inevitable.

Macy and Lieutenant Sender Kinnison are pilots for the Pandora Project for the time when Earth sends the ship out to meet Pandora and learn about the approaching danger. Senator Darlington and a linguist, Elios, from the Pandora team arrive at the base to get a look at the how new designs for the ships are shaping up. Elois’s takes one look at Sender, the pilot, taking him on a ride in one of the planes, Harpies, and he can’t be sure which gets him more excited, the man or the ride. At the same time, Sender finds Elios to be everything that he could ever want and not supposed to have. Elios is infatuated with both the ride and the Sender so when he is invited to be with the pilots for the evening he can’t resist. The night ends with Sender and Elios together bonding physically and emotionally; something that they never expected. Elois has recently had a bad break with his boyfriend, and when he interrupts them, Elios learns what a kind and generous man Sender truly is. Unfortunately, their world is unsettled between the Pandora Project, fitting two separate lives together, and Sender’s religion that forbids two men from loving one another. Will Sender and Elios find a way to overcome these obstacles? What does fate have in store for humanity? Is the Pandora Project ready for what it will find in the approaching ships?

Ms. Crow and Ms. Fox have set the stage to what appears to be an epic science fiction series that rivals The Lensman series by E. E. Doc Smith. The prologue sets the stage perfectly for what is about to befall Humanity. The flight in the Harpies came to life for the reader in the fluid and descriptive narration. It was interesting to see how the colonies differed in not only their outlook on life, but their beliefs and religions. It was beautiful to watch as Elios and Sender overcame their differences to look at each other with unbiased eyes to who they were inside. I for one can’t wait to see what happens when The Pandora Project leaves Earth.
