Charlene is a young girl who's had a traumatic childhood. Charlene has spent every moment of her young life indoors away from the world at large, with a father who is abusive and a mother who doesn't know how to get away from him. Her life changes when her father murders her mother right in front of her. Not only is that traumatic enough, but she has to live with complete strangers. Charlene latches on to a girl named Angie, calling Angie her guardian angel. But Charlene is naïve to a lot of things, most especially how Angie really feels about her.

The Fallen Angels series is a must read. Childhood Traumas is a perfect title for book one. We get to see how and why the relationship between Charlene and Angie develops. From page one the reader is drawn to Charlene, a little girl who has had to endure way too much in her life. Each of the four girls in the story are written with their own unique personality, which just further attests to Ana Star's wonderful writing ability. After reading book one you definitely will not want to miss book two. I know I'm looking forward to it!
