Blue Moon
Blue Moon is the second in Alyson Noel's The Immortals series.

Ever is eager to learn what it truly means to be an Immortal. Damen is teaching her and loving her all along the way and they have the rest of eternity to work through her intimacy issues. But just when things seem to be going so well Damen suddenly starts losing his powers. It seems that his past has come back to haunt him and Ever must find a way to save him before it's too late. But saving Damen may mean that she will have to choose between the past or the present. Staying here in the present with him or going back to the past and saving the lives of her family.

I was very eager to read this book and at the same time a bit leery as well. I really enjoyed Evermore, the first book in the series, and was afraid that Blue Moon would suffer from the dreaded sophomore slump. But my fears were unwarranted. Blue Moon is just as good as the first and in some parts much better. Ever and Damen are more developed as characters this time around and it was fun watching Ever come into her own a bit. Of course watching her bumble around and make mistakes that lead to a whole new set of problems was fun too. I wasn't sure about the introduction of a whole new set of characters when I still wanted to explore Ever and Damen and the world that was already in place, but the creepy twins and Roman enabled so many new plot arcs to open up and left Ms. Noel ample directions in which she can take the series. Filled with the usual high school cliques, teen angst, first love and its uncertainties, and great characters Blue Moon is a keeper and I can't wait for the next book. Unfortunately, I will have to wait until February 2010 to get my next fix of this fantastic series.
