Renovations 4: Full House
Ven and Toby have settled into a good routine. They flip houses, they love, and a couple of times a month they play house with Toby's daughters. But when Toby's ex needs his help with the girls and they suddenly start getting them for half of every week things change. Ven finds himself on the outside and struggling to adjust, and his distancing himself is pulling the family apart. Can Ven and Toby find a balance that keeps everyone happy in their blended family before it's too late?

I really like Ven and Toby and the life they have made for each other. This issue in the serial sheds more light on the seemingly confident Ven and the insecurities that he hides so well. It's easy to forget that he is the younger of the two men because he is always so dominant in the relationship. I liked how the authors showed the emotional and physical distancing that Ven used to protect himself from perceived heartache. I also like how the relationship is not always sunshine and rainbows and they have real problems. It's not easy to have a blended family and when the children belong to one male partner and his ex-wife it would be difficult to know where you fit. This is a good series and I hope to see Ven and Toby again.
