Border Moonlight
After turning down three men at the altar, Lady Sibylla Cavers can’t believe it when it is the second man she rejected that helps her save two young children from the River Tweed. However Simon Murray, Laird of Elishaw, doesn’t take Sibylla back to Princess Isabel Stewart’s home at Sweethope instead he takes her and the two children to his home at Elishaw. Sibylla can’t help but worry of her reputation, but Simon soon introduces her to his mother and sister who know nothing of the rejection. While Simon is fighting his attraction to Sibylla, she is also fighting her own towards him. With the mystery of who the two children are and the growing tensions between the borders, can these two forget the past in order to move on towards a future? Or will Simon walk away because of the rejection and humiliation she caused him at the altar?
Once again Amanda Scott has proven just how talented a writer she is! She has a way with words that draws the reader in and lets them live out the story in their minds. One couldn’t help but understand why Sibylla turned down all three men. However, on the flip side one could also understand how Simon felt at the altar when she refused his hand. Both characters will have readers cheering them on and then later on hoping they can find a middle ground to be together. The added mystery of the children and the growing tension between the borders added more flare to the story and keeps the reader turning the page to find out what was going to happen. Border Moonlight is definitely a book historical fans are not going to want to miss.
