Sisters of Magic 2: Echoes of Magic
Grayson has lived his life hidden and in secret. No one knows of his past and he doesn't know much himself. However, he does know that it is time to return to Hawksbridge to find the answers to his past. During his travels, he is attacked and nearly killed. His next memory is of the beautiful pale blue eyes of Adrianna leaning over him.
Adrianna is a witch who has traveled with a band of gypsies for the last several years. She knows that there are not more than a few of her kind left, because of the curse on her people. When she finds the injured Grayson, she can't leave him to die, even though she already feels the pull that he has on her body.
Together, Grayson and Adrianna set out to learn the answers that Grayson seeks. However, neither have any idea of what they will uncover, or what it will mean to them and their future.
Echoes of Magic is the second book in the Sisters of Magic series. I enjoyed the first one, but this second book was much better. The plot is better pulled together and easier to follow. The suspense and excitement is still there, but it seems to flow together better, with more of a purpose. After reading the first two books, I now realize that this plot is very complex and involves each character in unique and in-depth ways.
Grayson remembers that his mother was taken from him when he was a small child. He has lived since then with that secret, biding his time until he could return to Hawksbridge to find the answers he has wanted for so long. He is a powerful warrior and has never been tempted to want a long-term relationship with any woman.
Adrianna has already lived through the curse once, losing her husband and infant son within a month of each other. Since then, she has lived with the gypsies, content to be alone. Grayson stirs a longing in her that cannot be denied, and she knows that she is willing to endure the curse again, just to have a little time with Grayson.
Adrianna and Grayson are a good match, each having lost a close family member. After their respective losses, they each had to leave their homes and make a life with strangers. Despite their losses and hardships, they are still kind and loving people who have grown stronger in the face of despair.
After reading the first two books, it seems that this series gets better with each book, leaving me anxious to read the third book. I am intrigued by the story of these witches and their connections to one another and the great evil that they face. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys erotic paranormal stories.
