Gentlemen Prefer Succubi
Jackie Brighton isn't having a good day. She wakes up in a dumpster in an alley. Her body has changed completely and her sex drive is ramped up to the max. To top it all off she's done the unthinkable the night before, she's had a one night stand. And what a night it was, well--at least the parts she remembers of it. She only remembers bits of it, and what a large bit that was, and ... Wait, who was the dark haired stranger she was keeps having flashes of? Oh, Lord, what has she done? Or who?!
When she runs into Noah outside the alley she can't help but remember more of their night together and the more she remembers the worse it gets. It seems that she was bitten by a vampire before meeting Noah and between the two of them they've turned her into a succubus with and Itch that has to be scratched. Now she's fallen into the middle of a war with an ancient halo as the prize and both parties want Jackie to retrieve it. What's a newly turned succubus to do when she's caught between two immortal forces?
Don't pass this one by because you think it sounds like something you've read before. Sure, there are other books about succubi out there; they even have several elements in common. It's hard to be completely original with as many works as there are flooding the paranormal romance genre but Ms. Myles has managed to breathe new life into what could have been a tired plot device.
Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is an adroit piece of writing, especially as a debut novel, there are very few of the mistakes that first time novelists fall into. The characters were well developed and engaging. The dynamics between Jackie, Noah, and Zane kept me on the edge of my seat. Two hot men, complete opposites in every way except for their desire for Jackie, deliciously yummy and way too hot! I have to mention Remy as well, that was one fun friend! I hope we see more of her in the next book as well.
The plot was action packed and the story was fast paced from page one. The sexual heat brought sweat to my brow and made me breathless. I could continue with the adjectives but one pretty much sums it up. AWESOME! I can't wait to read the next book in this fresh new series! Thanks to Ms. Myles for giving paranormal romance readers a new series to become addicted to!
