Betraying Chase
Ramiro Gonzalo Sancho Rivera happens to be the largest drug lord in the Americas. He always makes sure his tracks are covered no matter what he does. Chase Willet, a DEA agent, is on a mission to put a stop to Rivera. No matter where he turns, he is at a deadlock. There are no fingerprints to be found, yet Rivera's signature is everywhere. Brandy Montgomery is stuck in the middle between Chase and Rivera. As a hired gun, if she wishes to stay alive, she must befriend Chase and get close to him, then kill him. Her life depends on it. Yet, the more she grows closer to Chase; she doesn't have the heart to kill him. Chase wants to make sure he protects Brandy at all odds. The first moment he set his eyes on her, he thought she was the hottest woman he had seen in the place. He was only there to have a few drinks and she entered into his life. It has been heaven ever since. Brandy's conscience gets the better of her when she must confess some things to Chase. Can the two salvage what they have by working on a plan to correct the mistakes in her life, or will Rivera make sure neither of them are able to ever have a connection again?

Betraying Chase is a page-turner. One can almost visualize the play of emotions that dance on their face. Brandy and Chase are spirited characters that boldly jump from the pages. Rivera is most definitely an evil, wicked man, and I would hate to cross his path. Donica Covey has penned an intriguing, action-packed story that engages the reader. She creates some scenes with Rivera that left a cold chill on this reader's back. The writing is strong, spinning heart-pounding tension once Chase and Brandy begin having their encounters with the ongoing events. This grand story kept this reader totally immersed until the dramatic conclusion. Donica Covey really knows how to pen a motivating story that grabs and makes the reader care for the players. Love, trust, and holding tightly to the one that means more than anything to you, shines clearly in this story.
