Paradise Rules
Famous Blues singer Lana Rodriguez reluctantly agrees to accompany her best friend on a vacation to Waikiki, an island considered to be paradise by many, but is awash with terrible childhood memories for her. Determined to prove her grown-up control, she contacts an escort service to supply an evening's entertainment for them both. Unbeknownst to her, her standoffishness has captured the attention of local golden boy, and successful business man, Jason Koa, who is the cousin of the service's owner. Jason arranges to be her hired "date" without revealing his identity, and from the beginning the sexual sparks burn out of control.
Frustrated by his inability to crack her shell, except through their intense encounters, he dares Lana to spend the weekend on his house boat... with the caveat that she play by his rules the entire time. It seems that his plan has worked until pictures of them show up on the National news. Then Lana's secrets are unwittingly revealed, and she makes a run for it, unable to face him with the truth about her background.
In Paradise Rules, Beth Kery returns to the somewhat familiar theme of a woman with terrible secrets and a man who can make her lose her inhibitions. However with each successive story, she improves her character building. In Paradise Rules, Lana is by far the most developed, strongest woman she has created to date. And it's nearly impossible to recall a sexier, more perfectly Alpha man than Jason Koa. Ever patient, yet equally demanding of her submission, he leaves Lana little choice but to fully respond to him. His unquestioning support in the face of the final break down of her defenses seals the deal: No woman in her right mind would turn away such a man. This story is one erotic tidal wave with peak after peak. I highly recommend Beth Kery's Paradise Rules to any reader, but especially one looking for a drool-worthy hero about whom to fantasize!
