Rihana is a psychic for the NYPD, but after the murder of a reporter, she starts to question whether this is truly the job for her. This case is leaving her with a dark feeling, with the exception of the main suspect, sexy tattoo artist Heath. She can tell he is innocent, but she has no way to prove it. Her feelings towards him start to jeopardize her job and the investigation, but it is only the beginning as she learns that Heath is from another world, and he wants her to go back with him.

Slither is a sexy short story that left me wanting more. It is the second in the series, but I was able to follow along without missing a beat. Bernadette Gardner has created a setting that is truly unique, and I was hooked. I wanted to know more about Heath as much as Rihana did. He's confident, sexy, and my attention was always drawn to him. I was left wanting to know more about his abilities and the place he came from. However, when it came to Rihana, I never really got her. I can't say exactly what about her threw me off, but it kept me from enjoying Slither as much as I could have. A new and refreshing paranormal is not easy to find anymore but Bernadette Gardner has done it and I look forward to reading more of her stories.
