Biting Me Softly
Liese is still trying to prove herself at her new job at the Meiers Corners Blood Center. She needs this job for a variety of reasons so when tall, blonde and sexy walked in with the news that he is the new security expert Liese fears that her days are numbered. But no man, ever again, is going to cause her to lose a job. No, Liese will fight tooth and claw to keep her legs closed, er, her job no matter how Mr. Logan Steel makes her feel. Hot, that's right, he makes her hot in her anger, those are beads of sweat from how heated her...uhm...anger makes her feel. Logan Steel may think he can sweet talk his way into making her trust him but Liese won't fall for that again, no matter that she can think of lots of things he could do with that mouth and not all of them involve talking!

When I finished this book one of my favorite quotes came to mind. "When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." This quote by Kahlil Gibran pretty much sums up my feelings for Biting Me Softly and the rest of the Biting Love series. I suffer from horrible book grief each and every time I read the last word. I almost dread each new book in the series as much as I am salivating at the thought of being back with characters I have grown to love so much. I love, love, love Mary Hughes' writing style. It revs me up and keeps me going from the sheer excitement of the merry chase her heroines lead their men on in hopes of winning their love. Liese Schmetterling (see even the names leave you giggling) is no delicate butterfly. She is a fiercely independent woman who takes her job seriously, takes care of her feisty ailing mother, and after being burned in a previous relationship, is no man's simpering maiden in distress. Logan Steel, ah, Logan. That is one sexy man, er...vampire. I do believe that each time Ms Hughes delivers a new hero to her voracious fans they become hotter and sexier. I know that I certainly feel that way. Each time I think that I can love no other character as much as the previous one she gives birth to a new empyrean delight to torture and beguile the reader. Logan's virility left me panting at the mere thought of what he would soon do with and to Liese. Like his surname Logan was as strong as steel and, just as real steel, he could be as flexible with the right tempering or as ...hard as he need be. Liese was the perfect agent to hone Logan, and in the process herself, into characters that will not soon be forgotten. So now I am left clothed in sorrow awaiting the next chapter in this ongoing saga of audacious heroines and provocative heroes of Meiers Corners.
