My Gigolo: The Care and Feeding of a Male Prostitute
Gabrielle "Gabe" Turner can't believe that a male prostitute is standing on her porch and that her sister bought him for Gabe for her birthday. When she finally gives in and accepts the "gift" she wishes that she had bought him for herself long ago. She is surprised when he calls her a couple of months later and wants to know if he can come see her to escape his job and his life for a bit. She agrees and then those visits become more frequent and she starts to look forward to seeing him.

Jack Savage feels like he's been run over by a truck when he realizes that he really likes his "client" Gabe. No matter how much he wishes he could forget about her she keeps lingering in his mind. These feelings that he has for her cause him to make drastic changes in his life. He can't let her know about the changes because he knows that she doesn't want love from him. She only wants hot sex from him, which he is more than happy to provide. However, he keeps hoping that she will come to accept a true love that will last a lifetime because that is the gift that he would like to bestow on her.

This story surprised me on so many levels. I was expecting a hot scorching story that would have me breaking out fans and ice cubes. Instead I was treated to one of the sweetest stories that I've ever read. The author did a fantastic job with the characterization of the secondary characters, but the one that I was most surprised by was the hero. I never thought that I would fall in love with a male prostitute, but I fell in love with Jack. I expected him to be more cocky and full of himself however he turned out to be a nice guy looking to get his life in order. Ms. Burkhart shows her brilliance by having, what should be the perfect sex partner, fall in love with a woman who refuses to fall in love and only wants a sex partner. Left me shaking my head at the irony of the situation. I urge everyone who enjoys a good romance to read this book. You'll fall in love with the sister who brings them together, the sweet hero and, more than likely, the rest of the characters in the lovely story.
