Death Sequence
Wendel Spears murdered his best friend's abusive father six years ago while being watched by government agents, forcing him to become one of the agency's Berserkers. Thinking he lost Jericho forever, he learned she has followed him and become one of the Director's Valks. Distrusting all Valks, Wendel keeps Jeri at arms length, until he is forced to work with her to save his life and the lives of all the Berserkers. Now Wendel has to figure out how to handle loving a woman he can never trust.

Death Sequence is the first story in Ann Vremont's Men of O.D.I.N series, and it is a great start. Immediately I liked Jeri and Wendel, and I wanted them to be together. Wendel is a strong alpha male who takes what he wants and doesn't apologize, but he knows right from wrong and stands up for what he feels is right. Like keeping Jeri safe even when he believes she doesn't deserve it. Jeri is a kick ass woman, and she is dangerous in her own right. She followed Wendel believing they would be together, and she ended up losing him almost completely. I enjoyed watching these two fight their attraction even though they both love the other, and have for some time. My only problem with the story is that I felt like I didn't have all the facts. We don't really know what happened between them before the start of the story. We also are never really told how they became what they are, or what their jobs usually are. It felt more like a story in the middle of a series, and not the first. Even so, I enjoyed Death Sequence, and I had to read it straight through. I couldn't put it down. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.
