Magic Touch
On the planet Venus, High Prince Randall deCarthwright and his best friend, Grace Ann O'Connor, find themselves destined to be together. Rand knows Grace is the one for him, even as she fights him every step of the way. When enemies come after them, they will need to come together to help themselves, their family, and the kingdom.

Magic Touch is unlike anything I have read before. It is a unique blend of paranormal and futuristic that was fresh and exciting, but not without its faults. The people on Venus have sentient powers inside of them, and they emerge to bond with one another. Parts of the bonding were confusing; I never quite understood how it worked. Grace knows she is Rand's chosen, even if she's not happy about it. Yet she fights it every step of the way. Grace's attitude got tiresome fast. I never got the sense that she really knew why she was fighting it. Rand also has his faults, he keeps things from Grace if she knew would have made things much easier for them both. When they did come together, it was explosive. It is obvious they are meant to be, and the love scenes are done exceptionally well. Dakota Trace knows how to get your blood going. Although their sentient powers made me cringe a little. Rand's power was his great grandfather, and Grace's was Rand's Great Grandmother. These powers do what they can to get Rand and Grace in bed, and they can all communicate with each other. I found it a little disturbing that it is Rand's great-grandparents urging them to have sex, so that they could bond also. I would have enjoyed it much more without that part. One other thing, I felt like the fact that their enemies keep coming back was a bit much. It started to feel like the book was starting to repeat itself, and I was ready for it to be over. Overall, Magic Touch captured my attention because it is different, but it ended up falling a little short.
