Bassett sisters, Catherine and Anne would be attending court in hopes of being chosen as one of Queen Jane's hand maidens. Anne "Nan" gets chosen. This causes a bit of a rift between the sisters.

Nan and King Henry VIII strike up a romance. Nan desires to not only possess the king's heart but also to become the next queen. Nan better not set her sights too high for when the King learns about her heritage and who her relatives are, she may receive the same fate as one of her most famous relatives.

Secrets of the Tudor Court: Between Two Queens is book two in this series focusing around the Tudors and the court. I read the first book in this series titled Secrets of the Tudor Court: Pleasure Palace. After finishing the first book, I just absolutely fell in love with Kate Emerson and this fantastic world she created. I would not want to be in Nan's place. It must have been hard back than to love someone but you couldn't give him all of your heart for fear that if he rejected it, he could have you sent away or beheaded if you displeased him. It was hard for me to fully embrace Nan. She was vindictive. Ms. Emerson really has a wealth of knowledge on the Tudor era and it shows in her books. This book is deserving of four angels. A rating that would make royalty pleased.
