Zoey Addler's sister and niece are in protective custody due to the sisters' boyfriends ties to the mob. When Zoey gets word where they are living, she gets an apartment in the same building so she can be close to her sister and niece. As Zoey is trying to convince Special Agent Dante Torelli that he stole her parking space and needs to move, a man comes running out of the building with her niece and takes off. Zoey does the only thing she knows to do and jumps into Dante's car demanding he chase the man down and get her niece back.

Dante is a man who likes to work alone and is eager to get rid of Zoey the first chance he gets no matter how pretty he thinks she is. When he realizes that she has no one to stay with and that the dangerous men could be coming after her next, he does his best to protect her from the danger as well as his desire while they work to rescue her niece.

For the Love of Pete is a refreshing and tempting tale that is sure to leave you smiling. Zoey is a chatty, take-charge woman who is willing to break the rules to do what she thinks is best, and Dante is a reserved man who follows the rules to the letter. Even though these characters are complete opposites the attraction between them is red hot.

Ms. Harper has created a lively, fast-paced story with an extensive cast of lovable, quirky and entertaining characters that will make putting down the book impossible. 4 Angels!
