Aric just can't catch a break today. While walking across campus, Aric is hit by a thrown football that knocks him to the ground. His rescuer is the most handsome male specimen that Aric has ever encountered. Aric recognizes him as Stu Hamilton, the schools star football receiver. Stu would be Aric's dream man except for the fact that he is a jock and known to be into women. Aric has had years of abuse from high school because of his looks, mainly from jocks. After Stu came to Aric's rescue, he can't get the man off of his mind. One late night they literally run into each other, changing their lives forever. Stu immediately realizes that something ominous is stalking Aric, and he decides to help Aric in any way that he can. What he doesn't know is that Aric's life was changed during a vacation when he met up with a man who he later found out was a vampire. The vampire infected him, and he has been using his knowledge to find a way to halt the transformation. How much longer can Aric hold the blood lust at bay? Can Stu find a way to help Aric or is he in way over his head?

Ms. Lyn has written a fast paced story with compelling characters who ensnare that reader. I was drawn into Aric's plight from that start as the story unfolds. There is more to Stu than meets the eye if Aric would just take the time to look closer. I found it fascinating to learn to learn about Stu's family and how they are no strangers to paranormal situations. The vampire Johan is an eclectic mixture of frailty, animalistic savagery, and human needs. He is not your average vampire. The other character I fell in love with is Stu's brother Corbin. Corbin's unique character, visual description, and explosive temper bring him to life for the reader. I for one hope that this isn't the end of Aric, Stu, Cordin and Johan's story.
