Rockstar
Rockstar by J. M. Snyder is a homoerotic contemporary romance.
All Adam has ever wanted is to be a rockstar. He knows that between his singing, song writing, and his drive that somehow his dream will come true. Now all Adam needs is a chance for his band, Viral Blue, to be noticed by a label. Adam finally gets his shot when Trace, a band member, gets them a gig in the battle of the bands at The Lot, the hottest underground club in town. The night at The Lot almost ends when Adam gets into it with a member of a rival band, but he gets the last laugh when the audience goes wlid after they sing their song. Adam always thinks he is correct, causing friction with his band mates, but in the end things work out. Adam is sure the night is a waste when he doesn't see any talent scouts. Until he sees a man, Paolo, who he hopes to get to know intimately. The attraction between Paolo and Adam is instantaneously, but Adam is shocked when he learns that Paolo isn't just a pretty face, he is a talent scout for Raucci Entertainment.
Ms. Snyder has created a contemporary romance with characters who come to life for the reader. Adam is a complex man who, on the surface, appears very superficial with a huge ego, but inside he hides his true feelings. Viral Blue has talent, but it takes more than just talent to make it in the music business. In the budding relationship between Adam and Paolo, it is to separate their personal and professional feelings as they struggle to make their dreams come true. Rockstar is a realistic look at the making of a band as they going from anonymity to fame and all the struggles and egos that goes along with the business.
