Skin Game
Kyra is a thief like no other. She can steal with a mere touch. What she takes varies from person to person depending on what their strongest talent may be. She's used her gift to run cons most of her life. When her father was murdered, she sought revenge and though it was hard won, she succeeded. The powerful man she humiliated, and stole a sizeable amount of money from, has now put a price on her head. Kyra is on the run with no one to trust-until she meets Rey. He's a man looking for a con, a partner, and maybe some steamy interludes on the side. She just hopes she doesn't regret trusting him.

Reyes is a ruthless hit man who has never missed his mark. He's been hired to take out Kyra, but he needs to find out where she stashed the money first. He's never reneged on a contract. The heartless woman he's been hired to kill doesn't seem to fit the dossier he's been given. In fact, she's intelligent, passionate and weaseling her way right into his heart.

Skin Game is a paranormal romance that stands alone in a market flooded with vampires, shifters and demons. Dark, gritty and completely unapologetic, this novel takes the reader on road trip fraught with danger that comes in multiple forms-everything from volatile meth dealing bikers, to calculating casino owning thugs. It's hard for me to even describe what this book is really like. I wouldn't really consider it paranormal romance. In fact, it reads much more like a Tarantino flick with a romantic twist than anything else. I absolutely loved it.

Kyra and Reyes are both flawed and ruthless in their own way. The chemistry they share is explosive, and the sex scenes are just as gritty as the rest of the story. Ava Gray gave these characters more depth and soul than what's typical of this genre. The result was such that I walked away from it with a connected feeling-one that will have me on pins and needles waiting for Skin Tight, Foster's story.
