Attending a costume party should be fun, but Simon fears he's in way over his head when he realizes he has to come dressed in drag. While other men are lucky enough to be assigned the "stag" part of the "Stag and Drag" theme, Simon finds himself rummaging through sequined gowns trying to figure out his size. Luckily, a helpful salesperson comes to his rescue, and points him to a Pocahontas costume. What Simon doesn't know is that he's been set up. Charles is not a salesperson, but is in fact another invited guest; one who got the "stag" invitation and is planning on attending as a hot cowboy. And what better way for Charles to make his Cowboys and Indians fantasy come true than to have some scorching fun with the man who so fetchingly plays the Indian Princess in distress?

My Heroes Have Always Been Cowbosy is a delight from the first page to the last. Lynn Lorenz is aware that her cross-dressing hero might put off some readers, and she handles his plight with a deft touch. The scenes where Simon struggles with his feminine side are quite funny, written with a lightness that still manages to treat the subject matter with the respect it deserves. Although the story is humorous and charming, the erotic scenes between Simon and Charles are anything but! Their chemistry sizzles on the page, and these two generate enough heat to scorch a laptop monitor. This is a wonderful story of finding out who you truly are, beneath the layers and disguises we all wear when we're putting on our public face. Simon discovers truths about himself he never suspected, while Charles takes charge in true cowboy style. This is another delightful book thatMs. Lorenz's fans shouldn't miss.
