Deadly Obsession
Sierra Brower thought she had a fairly normal life. She was in love with Aaron Copeland and planned to marry him. However when Stephen Doss starts showing up everywhere with eyes for only her, he forces her and Aaron to speed up their nuptials to prove to him once and for all she belongs to Aaron. It isn't long before Sierra realizes Stephen is dangerous, but unfortunately it's too late to save Aaron. After her husband's death, Sierra fears for her life, leaning on a local police officer, Cliff Wilson. Stephen is now openly stalking Sierra, and she fears for those who love her. When things start to heat up between Sierra and Cliff, she feels she must break it off before Stephen hurts Cliff. Cliff however has different plans and he is determined to have Sierra and rid the world of the evil Doss. It isn't long before Sierra runs for her life to Chase, TX thinking no one can save her especially after Cliff's sister blames her for the threats against her brother. Is she destined to always live life on the run, or will she be able to live life in Chase without Stephen Doss ever finding her?

Roxanne Springer has written a very poignant story about a young woman fearful of her life and all who are in it. While this book has a historical setting, readers will not even notice as they are biting their nails turning pages to find out where Stephen is or what Stephen will do next. One can't help but feel empathy for Sierra and all that she has to endure just because one man has decided he must have her. She not only had to put up with Stephen's menacing ways, but the scene with her and Cliff's sister seemed almost surreal. The audacity of his sister to blame Sierra for Stephen's actions had this reviewer seething with anger. I understood her reaction to a point, but still felt poor Sierra once again had to suffer because of her stalker. Also there were several intimate scenes that also added to the pleasure of this story. The author's ability to draw me into the story and have me feel a whole host of emotions throughout the story is why Deadly Obsession deserves the highest rating of a Recommended Read!
