Kalyani Marin, the daughter of a preacher, was raised in a strict fundamentalist environment, but her dream is to produce an outstanding television series. So when she is assigned a choice assignment to produce a ghost hunting show, she is thrilled even though she knows her family will not be supportive. Will Hellenboek is an archdemon waiting to die and the co-host of the Otherworlds ghost hunting show. He is anti any women on his set in any function and is furious to learn that Kalyani has been assigned the show producer. Especially when he meets her and recognizes that they have a powerful chemical attraction to one another. But when good and evil clash in a big way, will Kalyani be able to accept that much of what she knows is wrong and can Will make the choice to save Kalyani's life even if it means he won't be able to end his existence?

I loved this book. It is pure fantasy, and the product of one of the most creative imaginations I have ever read. In this version of the world, archdemons are the good guys and much of what the world has been told about demons is false. Ryan is the head archdemon, and it is his job to see that his archdemons do their job protecting earth even if it means he has to be a total jerk for the good of them all. He ensures that Kalyani and Will are forced to work with one another and hopes their attraction will lead to the outcome he needs. There is no doubt that Kalyani and Will feel the attraction but they also have free will, so placing them in close proximity may not be enough. Kalyani and Will have to make life altering decisions in this story and that is the crux of the matter. Can each give up something they hold as sacred to save the other and do they want to? The cast of secondary characters in this story are also a delightful group of misfits and charmers that I hope will appear in later books with their own stories. If you love steamy romance, good vs. evil battles, life altering dilemmas, and nosy interfering bosses, then you will love this story.
