Des gave up the plans for his life ten years ago when in a short time he not only lost his parents, and his brother and his wife left their six year old daughter, Kelsey, and Des alone. There was never a question about what he would do, and Des has never regretted the loss. Watching his niece grow into a happy and secure young lady is all the thanks he ever needed. Des has always been honest with Kelsey about his being gay, but living in a small town has limited his chances to find the man of his dreams. It is almost Christmas, and Des is almost ready for their yearly Christmas party. Kelsey is determined that this year they will have a real tree, but what they find neither expected. While looking for the perfect tree, Kelsey Victor Moore, a star from the TV show Vampire High. Des has no idea who he is, but Kelsey talks Des into getting his autograph. After loosing site of Victor, Des runs into him at the grocery store, and he has the strangest feeling that Victor is making moves on him. Des is shocked when he accepts Kelsey's invitation to her party tonight. Could a TV star ever be interested a small town man?

Mr. Manly has created a beautiful story with a seasonal theme about two men from completely different worlds. Kelsey is a beautiful young lady who wants to give her uncle a Christmas that could last a lifetime. Des is a very special man who was willing to put his dreams aside to raise his niece, and he never looked at it as a loss. If other people were as giving, the world would be a better place. The growing feelings between Des and Victor were beautiful to watch, but can they overcome their differences. Thanks go to Mr. Manly for a wonderful short story.
