Captured
Without warning a woman is grabbed in broad daylight and tossed into the back of a van and blindfolded. Although she puts up a fight, she doesn't escape. Taken down a flight of stairs into what feels like a dungeon, she's tied up and treated like a BDSM sex slave. Unbelievably, this captor seems to know her secret fantasies of being a slave and begins to respond to the unseen man. Who is this man and how does he know so much of her inner desires?

Authors writing any sort of capture stories have to be very careful. First they have to make the scene be realistic and then, in a romance anyway, those scenes have to be carefully crafted to avoid the mistake of making the scene so real that romance isn't possible. Many women have secret fantasies of being abducted and becoming a love thing of her captors. However, the reality of the capture would more than likely be a lot less savory than the fantasy, ie: the man is obese, smells funny, and other characteristics that certainly wouldn't fit with one's desires.

In this short story, the capture does have a realistic feel and against the woman's will she does find herself turned on by the sexual things the captor does to her. She also believes there's something familiar about the man who has taken her. This tells the reader she may know him. So my only complaint with the story is that there was no anger in this woman when she discovered who abducted her, just ready acceptance. This was the only aspect that did not suspend disbelief for me. Other than this small nuance, Captured is a quick, engaging read.
