Kari Lofton loves the Cubs and doesn't want to spend the evening alone. She also has a desire to lose her tightly held control for a night of loving... even if for only one night. After walking into a hotel sports bar, she spies beautiful, younger Riley Tucker and thinks he might be just the ticket for a night of fun, but certainly not acceptable for anything more than that. After all, she's forty-two and he's at least a decade younger! But Riley believes that age is just a number and isn't about to let her go so easily.

There's a reason I love the creative endeavors of Desiree Holt and this story is just one of those reasons. I can so appreciate the sentiment that Kari wraps around her mind like a fortress, that because of her age she must be less than appealing. Riley was able to rip that foolish thought from my overly critical brain. The chemistry between Kari and Riley was three-alarm fire hot, and his mental maturity proved that not everyone seeks a twenty-something young girl. The only complaint I have is that the story was way too short. Don't get me wrong. The story has a logical beginning, middle and end. However, I found myself thinking of the characters long after the words "The End" and it just made me realize I wish I were able to delve even more deeply into their lives. Kudos to Ms. Holt yet again for a wonderful read.
