What She Needs
Delia Barnes is an erotic romance writer. When she arrives at a romance conference complete with a shiner, she jokes with friends that she didn't say "Yes Master" quick enough. Master Kurt Reinhardt overhears the woman's comments and remarks that perhaps she needs a new Master. What begins is a push-pull relationship between Delia and Kurt, but convincing herself that she's in it for the research Delia finally capitulates to the sensual appeal and magnetic attraction she sees in Kurt.

Unfortunately, during a weekend getaway at his home in the country, an event of significant proportions for both of them brings their pasts crashing down among the couple and trust is broken. Can they move past the moment and reconcile or will their budding relationship be over before it has a chance to bloom?

Unconsciously, I've lately been choosing stories that have an older-woman, younger-man theme. And of all I've recently read, this one has to be the best. Delia knows who she is and what she wants in life. She's in her prime but still is a little self conscious of her age. Kurt, however, doesn't allow the numbers game to get in the way of his desire for her. He's intense, darkly brooding but incredibly courteous of her newly discovered submissiveness. The chemistry between this pair is off the charts, and the maturity they display when facing obstacles is admirable. I will admit to being brought to tears when these two had to come to grips with their pasts. The pain they experienced was visceral.

It was quite a treat to read of this couple's journey. I find myself eagerly seeking other works by Cris Anson for further reading pleasure.
