A Convenient Cowboy
Dashing to save her reputation and career, commercial guru Nina Randall picks the Crooked C Ranch in Miller's Creek, Wyoming as the locale for a new soda pop commercial. Amid mishaps of epic proportion she decides to head for the ranch and do a little scouting of her own. After all she's not known as total workaholic for nothing!

Jon Carver, former stock analyst and part owner of the Crooked C, is back in the saddle to help his brother Josh save the ranch. He's divorced, disillusioned and dissatisfied and those are on his good days. When he learns Josh has rented out the ranch for the commercial he gets another spur in his seat.

Nina falls in love with the small town and its down to earth people. She's even wildly attracted to 'tall, dark and surly' Jon. Their feelings appear mutual after a few explosive kisses send them into a spiraling tailspin. Nina's life is in New York. Jon is on the fast track out of town. Will they be able to work out their differences or will Jon be just a convenient cowboy?

Shari Thayn displays wonderful humor and introspects into her characters. Words like 'bumptious' are interspersed within the text to add to the comedic flavor of the writing. Her laugh-out-loud dialogue had me grabbing a tissue or two as well.

A Convenient Cowboy is a great contemporary western you won't want to put down. I sincerely hope Ms. Thayn decides to write a story about Josh and his adventures in life and love. This is an up and coming author to watch. Five Angels, Recommended Read.
