It started out to be a beautiful day in Honolulu for Mingo, but it quickly went downhill with one phone call from his Aunt Alice. Aunt Alice works at the Ioloni Palace where the past kings of Hawaii reigned. Late last night there was a break-in by one of the crazy people claiming to be king of Hawaii creating panic and damage before the police arrived. Mingo and his lover Francois volunteer time helping to retrieve and protect many lost artifacts of Hawaii. Things become more complicated when Mingo's friend Benny gets arrested for using counterfeit bills and they learn that it is a huge problem for the police. Between Mingo learning that Francois has a son who is coming to visit and his mother having a new and unknown boyfriend, things begin to unravel. Will Mingo and Francois find time to keep their love alive while they work to unravel the mysteries before it is too late?

Mr. Llewellyn has continued his fascinating series with this fast paced and riveting story. More about Mingo and Francois's past is revealed as they have to deal with not only work, but the complications in their personal lives. Their loving relationship is put to the test as Mingo has to deal with not only Francois's son, Ferric, but his ex-wife. Mingo shows his loving and open heart when he takes Ferric not only into their home, but into his heart too. Mingo's mother with her nutty behavior and unusual boyfriends adds depth and unpredictability to the story. I for one can't wait find out what is next in store for Mingo and Francois.
