Time of the Soul by Mark Alders is the third book in the Pembroke Eve Chronicles.

All Jacob ever wanted was to finally leave his hometown of Pembroke Eve since things changed when they were invaded by aliens. Jacob, with the help of his friends and his lover Callum, has saved his town twice from the invasion of aliens and is ready for some fun at the Spring Dance. Even the presence Mr. Barnaby's dragon friend Aloysius doesn't seem crazy after everything that Jacob has seen. Things are quiet at the party until Corey, the foot ball jock and bully, arrives to harass Jacob about his sexuality. Zane comes to Jacob's defense and Jacob is able to hold him back from Callum until he breaks free and the fight is on, but in a flash of light Jacob disappears awakening four years in his past. Jacob sees his old unrequited crush, Thomas, and to his surprise Thomas not only talked to him, but tells Jacob that he is his boyfriend. The white light happened again and Jacob finds himself in a future where Callum, his lover, is marrying another man. This is too much for Jacob and Thomas comes to his rescue taking Jacob back to their home where he learns that joining rather than sex is what Thomas had in mind. Thomas mysteriously tells Jacob that he needs to be on the right path before he can reveal his true identity. Who is Thomas and what does he want from Jacob? What has happened to Callum and will Jacob find his way back home?

Mr. Alders has continued his fast paced series with this addition to the Pembroke Eve Chronicles. The strange and incredible situations happening at Pembroke Eve continue as Jacob's life is once again placed in chaos. Only this time Jacob is left without the help of his friends. As Jacob is pulled to different times in his life, he shows resilience as he begins to unravel what is happening to him. Unlike most people, Jacob isn't willing to accept what other people tell him as he remembers the most important man in his life, Callum. Thomas is a strange and mysterious individual who seems to be much more than your average human. The erotic scenes are like none that I have ever read before as Jacob has to decide who he really wants in his life the most. Will the ultimate erotic scene of his life or the love of his life win out? I hope there will be more stories about the life and times of the individuals who live in the town of Pembroke Eve.
