What She Deserves
Peter Duvall, class solitarian and former skinny guy, has been looking forward to his high school reunion for weeks. He knows that his class crush will be attending and he is looking forward to catching up with her and hopefully starting a romance that never seemed to work out for him when they were in school. Winnie is more beautiful than he could have imagined and the night starts out good for his fantasy to come true. However, it soon becomes apparent that she is after her school crush and unfortunately it was not him.

Computer programmer, Winifred "Winnie" Sampson, is looking forward to her ten year high school reunion. She finally has the confidence to go after the star football player, her school crush. She hopes that her nemesis, Peter Duvall, is absent from the festivities. He beat her out of class solitarian, class president and worked for her dad so she could never avoid him in school. Unfortunately he is the first person who recognizes her and she is surprised by the changes in him. Nerdy guy with the ponytail has turned into a lawyer who looks like a Greek god. She enjoys talking to him and is pleasantly surprised because he is nice to her, no competition involved. She soon begins to think that she needs to be spending time with Peter instead of worrying about a crush who is not nearly as fascinating as the man that Peter has become.

This reader always enjoys a high school reunion book where the nerd turns into a hunk and Peter does seem to be a hunk. He is also smart, polite and it was fun to watch most of the ladies who didn't like him in school fall all over him during the gathering. A school reunion is always fun because of the "other people" involved and Ms. Marvel added these in spades. An overweight cheerleader, an obnoxious drunk husband and a gay guy who loved to gossip added to the mix of classmates and had this reviewer laughing at the odd assortment of people. I daresay lots of readers will wonder if she was hiding at their reunion by the strange mix of characters that were present. I loved the original concept of the tale and salute Ms. Marvel for her imagination and putting a story out there that everyone can enjoy.
