Love Means...Freedom
Stone Hillyard finds his ultimate dream come true one cold snowy night. When all hope seemed lost, and he thought he would freeze to death alone and miserable Stone found hope, love, and a family to call his own. Driven out of the only home he knew by his father for being gay, Stone did what he must to survive. He's not proud of his decision, but with the assistance of his new friends and Preston Harding he may find reasons to be proud of himself after all.
Preston is trying to reclaim the life he once knew, but one thing is evident since his accident: some of Preston's choices have been short-sided. His best friend helps him to reexamine his choices, but it will take Stone's love to guide him towards being a better man and using his skills to create the life he always wanted.
Over the course of a harsh winter these two men learn that Love Means...Freedom.
Andrew Grey is a fantastic author with a talent of creating characters that are three dimensional and have the ability to attach themselves to my heart strings. Preston doesn't allow being in a wheel chair to be misconstrued as being a weakling. His strength is evident regardless of the adversary. When he started taking a hard look at himself and his treatment of others, I saw the wheels turning as Preston began to admit he was wrong and make amends. I liked him even more at that moment.
Stone had a hard life. Those whom he should have been able to trust used and abused him on various levels. Preston and his new family on the farm were all able to show him that love doesn't come at a price too high to pay. In fact, it's given freely and sooths all wounds.
I absolutely loved Mr. Grey's latest addition to the Love Means... series, and look forward to seeing who Eli and Geoff's open and caring natures will help next. The story is filled with lessons on acceptance, the ability to love selflessly, and the importance of having a strong foundation of family and friends to rely on.
