Bound by the Vampire Queen
Fae Lyssa and her servant, vampire Jacob are about to face one of their greatest challenges. The Vampire Council wants to take away Lyssa and Jacob's child. It's an abomination that a fae and vampire have a child together. Lyssa and Jacob head off to try to talk with the council, but it won't be an easy trek.
Bound by the Vampire Queen is book eight of the Vampire Queen books. Lady Lyssa and her servant, Jacob is back. Lyssa is the original Vampire Queen. She and Jacob were featured in book one, The Vampire Queen's Servant and book two, The Mark of the Vampire Queen. Though, if you are just trying this series out for the first time, don't worry, as Bound by a Vampire Queen can be read as a stand-alone novel. Ms. Hill does a good job explaining the dynamics of Lyssa and Jacob's relationship so a new reader can quickly figure out what happened in the past to the present.
I enjoyed reading this book because of Lyssa and Jacob. Their relationship was deeper than just sex; it was also built upon love, devotion, respect and great sex. Jacob and Lyssa shared an equal partnership in their relationship. Though, Lyssa was still the queen and called all the shots, she did it in way that they both benefited from it. Queen Rhoswen is a real bitch. She is cruel but this is why she makes such a good enemy. The only issue I had with this book is that it moved a little slowly in the beginning. I still enjoyed this book otherwise.
