A Decade of Longing
Angelica and Alexander met when they were children. At the age of fourteen, Angelica realized she was in love with Alexander. When her father found out how far this romance had developed, he sent her away to a convent and threatened Alexander's life. Since they had been caught in a compromising situation, Alexander was told to leave town by Angelica's father and never to contact Angelica again or there would not only be consequences to Angelica, but that he would kill Alexander if he ever caught him around his daughter again.

Alexander, realizing that he would never be good enough for Angelica, left town but Angelica waited for him to rescue her since he promised he'd come back for her. Her father, having decided that she'd been compromised and needed a husband, married her off to a well to do gentleman, who was a very cruel man.

Alexander returns ten years later to find that Angelica had been abused for all those years and is determined to rescue the only woman he has ever loved. Can he help her and regain her love?

This is truly a heartwarming story about the way women were treated as collateral, bought, and sold like property. It is also a story of how true love can make all your dreams come true if you trust in love and believe that, anything is possible, no matter how dire the consequences.
